How It Works

"Trip / No-Trip" Concept

The Team Connect Tracking System quantifies the costs and benefits of Work Anywhere by capturing information about “trips”, and “no-trips”.

  • A “trip” describes potential personal or goods movement. Once a trip is described we can calculate how much it would cost, the emissions generated, and how much time it would typically take.
  • A “reduced-trip” replaces part of a trip through a shorter commute to a local flexible office, peak shifting, or another environmentally benign strategy like vanpooling. Reduced trip costs record the associated time, dollar, operational and environmental costs of avoiding the complete trip.
  • A “no-trip” replaces a full trip with telecommunications technology, organizational practices and effective use of an integrated network of places. No-trip costs record the associated time, dollar, operational, and environmental costs of avoiding the complete trip.

Detailed weekly reports summarize emission savings, financial savings and time savings on an individual, organizational and regional level.

Sample 3BL Reports:

  • Individual Reports for Employees – outlining cost savings, emissions saving and commute time savings
  • Aggregate Reports for Business Groups, Organizations, or Communities - providing real time reports on the following 3BL measures:
    • Days Teleworked
    • Total Days Green Commute
    • Trips Avoided
    • Total Hours Saved
    • Total Miles Saved
    • Total Fuel Saved
    • Total Dollars Saved
    • Carbon Dioxide Reduced/Avoided
    • Carbon Monoxide Reduced/Avoided
    • Hydrocarbons Reduced/Avoided
    • Nitrogen Oxide Reduced/Avoided
    • Total Pollutants Reduced/Avoided
    • Greenhouse Gas Reduced/Avoided
